Appearance
Humans in Light Scar are your standard humanoid creature. They can have many different skin and hair colors, body types, and facial features. Their skin often ranges from light tans to dark browns, and hair in many natural warm colors. Humans do not possess a fur coat or scales, but rather a meaty epidermis with varying amounts of hair in all regions. Human’s have the most dense hair on top of their head, which can become very long.
They become physically mature at the age of 16, and mentally mature some years later. Humans typically live for 90 years, with some managing to live longer.
Culture
Though they are the first race to reach sentience, humans are not as populous as other races in Jereia. They often integrate with other races in society and adopt existing cultures, as they have become much more dispersed across the land compared to other races. Their combination of independent and community behaviors lead to many humans exchanging cultural values between each other.
Humans tend to be naturally inventive. Their existence as the first sentient race led them to be slightly ahead of the technological curve. While they remain mostly on the same level as every other race, humans tend to discover new technologies without being driven by necessity.
Special Attributes
Enhanced Reasoning: The composition of the human brain allows for quicker decision-making and greater will-power. Despite the long time necessary for the human brain to fully develop, they function well in extreme circumstances and are naturally difficult to mentally break down.
Natural Athletic Capacity: Humans naturally have great athletic capacity. Though they may not be the fastest, they are capable of exerting themselves longer without tiring. This also extends to a greater capacity to throw long distances, fight, and a slight natural aptitude towards swimming.
Magical adaptation: As the longest existing intelligent species, the human body has had the most time to adapt to its usage of magic. Their mostly-hairless body has led to the ability to absorb and metabolize mana like a vitamin. While it is not required for their survival, mana helps sustain and enhance their ability to utilize and resist magical phenomenon.
