Iben and Ux (Mele)

Iben and Ux are two gods in Light Scar that represent Family, History, Knowledge, and Legacy. While they are still two separate gods, modern religion on Jereia has merged the idea of both into one god: Mele. They both are believed to appear as a hooded figure in a yellow robe.

Lore

Iben and Ux are both gods of Light Scar created by the Core God. They were responsible for creating the most dynamic parts of the world: time and life. Since the beliefs behind both gods would intersect often, mankind eventually believed them both to be the same god. Now known as Mele, they govern Light Scar’s history and the family legacies of mankind. Much Like Shaila, Mele is seen as a female despite the gods being genderless.

Followers of Iben and Ux show worship through recording history and writing stories, showing appreciation for the history their god created. The general concept of development is also important to those following under “Mele.” Personal advancement and cultural change is seen as honoring the purpose of time, leading to an avoidance of sedentary lifestyles. Those strongly aligned with Iben and Ux gain magic in the form of healing, recalling knowledge, physical enhancement, and trace forms of spiritual interaction.

In some cases, this prostration for Mele can go too far. Orgies, extreme versions of modern relational dynamics, and manipulation of history are some practices shown by extremist sects of the religion. While this does attract the attention of a god, it is far from anything Mele would be.
