While they are still two separate gods, their domains are thought to be shared. They were responsible for creating the most dynamic parts of the world: time and life. Both govern Light Scar’s history and the family legacies of mankind. In mortal form both gods appear as beings of light in the shape of many different humanoid species. Iben and Ux are seen as a man and woman respectively, reflecting the two genders of mortal creatures.

Followers of Iben and Ux show worship through practices of general goodwill and offerings of written scripture, showing appreciation for the history and life their gods granted. The general concept of development is also important to those following under Iben and Ux. Personal advancement and cultural change are seen as honoring the purpose of time, leading to an avoidance of sedentary lifestyles. Those strongly aligned with Iben and Ux gain magic in the form of healing, recalling knowledge, physical enhancement, and trace forms of spiritual interaction.

In Nwsco, a combined faith with roots from both gods has become the dominant religion. The concepts of both gods are combined into a new god called Mele, appearing as a figure in a yellow robe. Unlike Iben and Ux, Mele’s physical form is never illustrated in scripture beyond their robes. Religious material often shows or describes them engaging in acts of charity or general goodwill. Followers of this religion often practice by preaching stories of companionship and creating potions/elixirs from herbal remedies. Despite being an off-shoot religion, clerics still receive blessings of magic from this belief.

In some cases, this prostration for both gods can go too far. Orgies, extreme versions of modern relational dynamics, and manipulation of history are some practices shown by extremist sects of the religion. While this does attract the attention of a god, it is far from anything Iben, Ux, or Mele would be.

Iben and Ux are two gods in Light Scar that represent Family, History, Knowledge, and Legacy.
